People with diabetes were recruited via postal mail-out from NHS podiatry clinics. Although the invitations were targeted to patients, carers were also invited to participate. Invitation packages included a cover letter with a brief summary of the study and contact information and a full participant information sheet detailing potential risks and data governance. Patient participants were included if they had diabetes and reported changes in sensation in their feet.
